Reiki
(pronounced  ray - key)

I am a Master Level Reiki Practitioner. 
I offer Reiki sessions in your home or office within about 90 min. of Pittsburgh, PA.
I also provide "distance Reiki"

There are 3 levels of being a Reiki practitioner:

* First Degree 
* Second Degree
* Master Level

At the Master Level, one can teach Reiki and give attunments to others.
At this time, I am not teaching Reiki. 


What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation.   The body heals when in a relaxed state.  Reiki is a non-invasive, holistic treatment that treats the body, mind, spirit.

The word "Reiki" comes from 2 Japanese words - Rei and Ki.

~ "Rei" means means universal, but as used in the Japanese kanji character, it has been given a much deeper meaning.  It is more accurately interpreted to mean a higher knowledge or spiritual consciousness.

~ The word ""Ki"  means life energy.  It is the same as the word "chi" in Chinese.

Therefore, Reiki can be defined as "spiritualy guided life energy". 

Reiki is spiritual, however, it is not a religion, nor does it subscribe to any one set of religious beliefs.  Reiki is practiced by people of all religious beliefs, and those who have no religious beliefs.  

            

The founder of Reiki, Dr. Mikao Usui, recommended that certain simple ethical ideals are practiced that promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.
They are the "Reiki Principles".

Just for today, do not anger
Do not worry and be filled with gratitude
Devote yourself to your work. Be kind to people.
Every morning and evening, join your hands in prayer.
Pray these words to your heart
and chant these words with your mouth.


What to expect in a Reiki session

The receiver lays on a massage table fully clothed in a comfortable, relaxing setting while reiki music plays softly.  The practitioner moves hands over the body in a sweeping motion to start the session, then, without touching, hovers hands over specific areas to focus energy there.  The sessions can last about 45-60 minutes.  The practitioner provides "spiritualy guided life force energy" to the client.  The whole experience is calming, relaxing, which can promote healing.
